Tippy-tippy Long Tipping
OK, here's the question. Yeah, yeah, just a RANDOM question, no personal attachment here, no siree....
Let's just say that you and your sig other are at a drive thru. Oh, let's say it's Star Bucks or a Tim Hortons for example. The average large double-double and small french vanilla round up to just about ohhhhhh let's say 22 cents shy of a toonie. Who here leaves the change with the attendant?
That's the question of the day. Again, while I have no personal attachment to the answer here, please note that the future jeporady of mankind lay in your hands by sharing your answer.

Are you kidding? Leave the change? For god's sake, they dont even have to have personal contact with me! We have no relationship. I keep my 22 cents.
I don't know if its slightly different in Canada but if it is a drive-in, I'd take the change.
Good to have you back online. Hope all is well on the various fronts.
Ok now i have to come back with some karmic shame. The lady in the pizza shop dug 12 cents out of her change bowl so i could get two whole dollars back. 12 cents is more than the give-a-penny take-a-penny obligation. I felt humbled.
crse - you and I have, on both occasions here had very similar experiences.
1) ME: leave $ behind? WHY?! It's her job. "Life choice" I say.
2) ME: shamefully remember the gal who pitched in the missing 7 cents towards my Wendy's lunch earlier that day
3) ME: and evening of guilty feelings for acting like a shmuck for being told that #1 was "MEAN" followed up with obsessive analytical crossfire mental warfare trying to determine if the tip would be more of an insult based on assumption or just a gesture of kindness
If only the BF had any clue just how much thought I put into it thereafter!
lone grey squirrel - I would too, although there's the option of last minute donation deposit as well, as it was so aptly pointed out to me...maybe I'm just such a weiner that I like to have the change variety available to me in the change drawer in my car...I don't know.
All is quite very well on all the various fronts. Thanks for asking :). I promise an update soon enough. :)
See, at the "Bux, this would not be an issue, as I would be using debit. :) And we all know that I am not overly fond of the Timmie's coffee. But most fast food places don't even have tip jars - they are not paid the server below min wage because they make it up on tips. So . . . sig needs to chill. Really, he's seen you tip at other places (plus at those places, it can be a bit of a bitch to balance the cash if everyone leaves their $.22)
The Bux?!
But it's so...so...so...Predictably predictable and UNCanadian!
Oh well.
Well, I occasionally go to Second Cup, but their service and product are often inconsistent in quality. There are no Timothy's near here. My ideal? 'Bux coffee and beverages, Timmie's food (mmmmm, their soups and sandwiches).
and a random comment...
i love the canal... i skate to work with wickedly cool retro speed skates.... the smooth silky fresh ice, like my powerful thighs wrapped in spandex ... drive long ...meaningful ....strokes... one ... after another .. after another ... blazing into the light ... a spiritual experience... soaring on a crisp ottawa morning...
canada - Whatever gets me through the day and today, as described by the immortal works of Ron James, 'it was served up by a buxom beauty with a hair net from the drive thru window at Timmy's' :)
i guess i'm wierd - i usually leave the change and often pay for the guy behind me too.
:)
mDog,
If I see anymore of ur random thoughts, I'm telling ur ex to change her password.
- keep the change
Boo - HA! You made a funny. :)
p.s. Thank you Chuck Norris, thank you.
