What a Stud

Barbaro

Bloodlines

While he's not out of the woods yet, he is doing much better. I won't write about my personal views on horse racing, but I will say that this is such a beautiful horse and to watch him race, then watch him fall was devastating.

Jockey Edgar Prado heard a noise 100 yards into the race and pull him right up (a move which may have saved Barbaro's life and which sadly, he was later criticized for by gamblers) With the momentum and excitement it took Prado more than 100 yards to bring him to a stop.

Dr. Larry Bramlage of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) dismissed any suggestion that the injury occurred when Barbaro broke through the starting gate.

Fans have showered him with w-mail, cards, carrots and apples.
I was trying to post the x-rays, but for some reason they won't load. They can be viewed here: Hospital News
